2008 Clay County Golden Delicious Festival
Grand Feature Parade
September 20, 2008
1. The purpose of the Golden Delicious Festival is to Showcase Clay County as the birthplace of the Golden Delicious Apple. The object of the Grand Feature Parade is to entertain our visitors with a display of our talentand highlight the beauty of our county.
2. Any group or individual may have an entry into the parade.
It is suggested that your entry reflect the annual theme of the Festival.
The parade application must be completed and returned by September 15, 2008. Parade position number will be given by September 18, 2008. Late entries may participate in the parade, but they may not be judged. No verbal entries will be accepted.
No political or controversial issues may be represented or alluded to in any way on any entry.
All entries must be in line-up by 11:30 a.m. on the parade day.
Once lined up, the driver must remain with the entry at all times.
All entries must obey the instructions of parade officials. These Officials will be properly identified and have authority to disqualify or eject any entry from the parade.
A distance of 40' to 60' feet must be maintained between any two entries.
In case of mechanical difficulties, the entry must be moved to the side of and out of parade flow.
Pageant participants must be on floats. No individual cars will be permitted for pageant participants.
The Golden Delicious Festival reserves the right to screen and reject or approve any entry.
3. No Parade Participant is ALLOWED TO THROW ANY ITEMS FROM A PARADE ENTRY TO PARADE SPECTATORS (THIS INCLUDES CANDY.)
The Use of Alcoholic Beverages by Drivers, as well as Riders, before or during the Parade is PROHIBITED.
If any children under the age of twelve are riding on a parade float, at least one Adult must accompany the float.
4. All float rides must be in costume and on the float, parked in proper location, by 11:30 a.m. to be eligible for judging.
Entries will not be judged during the parade. Entries will be judged by impartial judges working independently. The judges' decision is final.

Competitive Categories:

First place will be awarded in each of the categories.
President's plaque will be awarded for the Festival President Choice.
Queen's plague will be awarded for the Queen's choice.
